Mannahan Leads Owensboro Catholic Lady Aces Past Daviess County, 51-32

 

Owensboro, KY — March 8, 2026 — Taylor Mannahan put on a commanding performance as the Owensboro Catholic Varsity Lady Aces cruised to a 51-32 victory over Daviess County on Sunday at the Owensboro Sportscenter. Mannahan led all scorers with 17 points and added eight assists, setting the tone for a balanced and efficient offensive attack.

The game was tied at 2 early, but Owensboro Catholic quickly surged ahead on a 12-point run that set the pace for the rest of the contest. By halftime, the Lady Aces had built a 27-10 lead and never looked back. Owensboro Catholic outscored Daviess County 18-8 in the second quarter, fueled by six assists and stellar teamwork.

“Our team shared the ball really well today,” said Mannahan. “Everyone contributed, and we played smart on both ends of the court.”

Owensboro Catholic shot a scorching 58% from the field, connecting on 14-of-23 two-point attempts and 5-of-10 from beyond the arc. Senior guard Munsey drilled four triples, while Sophia Newby dominated the glass with eight rebounds. Hagan added a defensive spark with three blocks, contributing to a team total of five for the game. The Lady Aces also recorded 14 assists on 19 made baskets, highlighting their unselfish play.

For Daviess County, Lane led the way with 18 points, including two from downtown. Stewart and Hayden each added five points, while Henry chipped in four. The Lady Cats shot 56% from two but struggled from three-point range, hitting just 3-of-16 attempts. Daviess County also committed 15 turnovers, allowing Owensboro Catholic to score 14 points off miscues.
