The Daviess County Varsity Panthers rolled over the Grayson County Varsity Cougars 16-1 in a commanding performance on Tuesday, highlighted by a power-hitting display and timely offense throughout.

The Panthers jumped on top early, scoring two runs in the first inning. G. Howard’s two-run homer to left field put Daviess County ahead for good after C. Rickard was hit by a pitch earlier in the frame. By the end of the second inning, the Panthers had extended their lead to 5-0 thanks to singles from C. Embry and J. Johnson and a double from A. Brinkley.

Grayson County managed to get on the board in the fourth inning when J. Bratcher singled home J. Hawkins, but it was too little too late.

Daviess County’s offense continued to pile up runs, including a triple from C. Rickard and several walks and wild pitches that contributed to the scoring. Pitching for Daviess County was effective in limiting the Cougars to just a single run and one hit, while the Panthers racked up 11 hits. The Cougars’ pitching staff struggled to contain the consistent offensive pressure, with multiple hitters reaching base on walks, hits, and hit-by-pitches.
