Hayley Sikes at the plate in a three-home-run night vs. Crittenden County.
Owensboro’s Hayley Sikes delivered a performance you don’t see often—blasting three home runs—but it wasn’t enough as the Lady Devils fell to Crittenden County 16-13 in a back-and-forth showdown Saturday.
Sikes went deep in the first, sixth, and seventh innings, accounting for three runs and keeping Owensboro within striking distance all game.
The Lady Devils’ offense showed up, racking up 13 hits in the loss. Ayrish Barksdale added a big moment with a three-run home run in the fifth, while Sydney Stallings and Ella Hall each delivered key extra-base hits to keep momentum alive.
Owensboro briefly reclaimed the lead in the sixth after Sikes’ second homer and a clutch RBI double from Hall, but Crittenden County answered late—scoring four runs in the eighth to seal it.
Despite the loss, Sikes’ three-home run performance stands out as one of the top individual efforts of the season.
