Runners Take on the Rudy Rumble Trail Run During Bluegrass Clash Sports Summit

Owensboro, Ky. — Runners took to the trails at Ben Hawes Park on July 18 for the Rudy Rumble Trail Run, a 10K event that challenged participants with a scenic but demanding course through the Rudy Mines trail system as part of the Bluegrass Clash Sports Summit.

The Rudy Rumble offered runners a unique trail racing experience through a nearly fully wooded course featuring winding paths, technical sections, and natural terrain. Participants completed three laps to reach the 10K distance, testing both endurance and trail-running skills along the way.

Originally scheduled for July 11, the event was moved to July 18 after rainfall left the trails too wet for competition. When race day arrived, runners were met with warm summer conditions, with temperatures reaching 86 degrees. A water station was available at the end of each lap to help participants stay hydrated throughout the course.

Despite the schedule change, 22 runners showed up ready to compete and take on the challenge. Each participant received a finisher medal, while the top three male and female finishers earned special awards.

The overall male results:
Bronson Dukes — 48:39
Hayden Glover — 51:51
Matt Kennedy — 53:52

The overall female results:
Janna Cavender — 1:05:07
Abby Payne — 1:12:31
Heather Kennedy — 1:14:35
