Owensboro Catholic sophomore Landon Danner battles for position against a Foundation Christian defender

OWENSBORO, KY — Owensboro Catholic gave its three seniors a memorable Senior Night, scoring six goals Monday night in a 6-1 victory over Foundation Christian Academy at the Owensboro Catholic High School Soccer Field.

Landon Danner led the way offensively with a hat trick, scoring three times for the Aces. JW Kurtz added a goal and two assists, while Sam Brauer and Lucas Bailey each found the net once.

Kurtz also helped set up two of Catholic’s goals, while Landon Condor and Owen Brey each recorded an assist.

The victory was especially meaningful for Catholic seniors Condor, Brauer and Brey, who were honored on Senior Night before the Aces closed out the evening with a five-goal margin.

Foundation Christian got on the board once, but Catholic kept the pressure on throughout the match. Jace Obermeier made one save in goal for the Aces.

The win moves Catholic to 9-8 on the season. Foundation Christian falls to 5-11-1.

Catholic will stay home Thursday when the Aces host Logan County at 7 p.m.
