Lady Aces Rally Past OHS After Slow Start

The Lady Aces shook off a sluggish first half and turned in a dominant second-half performance to defeat Owensboro High School 66–49.

After struggling to find rhythm early, the Lady Aces went into halftime trailing 29–23. Missed layups and a lack of defensive pressure allowed OHS to control much of the first half and build momentum.

That tone changed quickly after the break.

The Lady Aces came out of halftime with renewed energy on both ends of the floor, applying consistent defensive pressure and creating better ball movement on offense. The adjustment paid off immediately, as Owensboro was held scoreless from the field during the third quarter while the Lady Aces surged ahead.

Improved spacing, quicker decisions, and attacking the paint opened up scoring opportunities, while the press forced turnovers and disrupted OHS’s offense. What was once a close game quickly swung in favor of the Lady Aces, who continued to build their lead into the fourth quarter.

By the final buzzer, the Lady Aces had completed a convincing comeback, outscoring OHS 43–20 in the second half to secure the 66–49 win.
