Owensboro Lady Devils Stumble as Franklin-Simpson Scores 10 in Third

March 9, 2026 – Owensboro opened the game with promise, scoring twice in the first inning, but Franklin-Simpson’s explosive third inning turned the contest upside down. The Lady Cats erupted for 10 runs on a combination of timely hits, walks, and defensive errors, cruising to a 15-4 victory.

Holland led the offensive charge, driving in six runs, including a key triple that cleared the bases, while Caudill and Shelton added clutch singles. Owensboro saw flashes of life from Stallings, Sanford, and Barksdale, and Sikes swiped two bases, but the early momentum wasn’t enough to counter Franklin-Simpson’s firepower.

The Lady Devils will look to regroup against Edmonson County on Thursday, March 12, while Franklin-Simpson starts the season 1-0 with a statement win.

Final: Franklin-Simpson 15, Owensboro 4 | Hits: 10-4 | Errors: 3-1
