Daviess County Rallies Past Central Hardin Behind Three-Goal Second Half

OWENSBORO, KY — Daviess County fell behind early Monday night, but the Panthers answered with three second-half goals to rally past Central Hardin, 3-1, at Deer Park Field.

Central Hardin struck first in the 18th minute when junior Osiel Cruz found the back of the net to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead.

The Panthers responded after halftime, and senior Graham Robinson got Daviess County on the board in the 49th minute. Sophomore Atley Thompson threaded a pass to Robinson, who finished with his left foot for his 10th career varsity goal.

Daviess County took the lead just five minutes later.

Robinson broke away from a defender before finding senior Mack Burton, who sidestepped the goalkeeper and finished the chance to put the Panthers ahead 2-1 in the 54th minute.

Robinson was involved again in the 65th minute.

After cutting off a Central Hardin pass, Robinson sent the ball between defenders to junior Estime Gakiza, who finished the opportunity for his first varsity goal and gave Daviess County a 3-1 advantage.

Robinson finished with a goal and two assists, playing a role in all three Daviess County goals.

The three-goal second half turned a 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 victory and moved the Panthers to 5-1-1 on the season.
