OWENSBORO, KY — Daviess County scored three times in each half Tuesday night, defeating Elizabethtown 6-0 at Deer Park Elementary Field.

The Panthers opened the scoring in the 13th minute when a corner kick resulted in an Elizabethtown own goal.

Daviess County doubled the lead in the 27th minute when Ethan Dailey headed home from the back post off a corner from Avery Dilger.

Silas Goebel made it 3-0 in the 35th minute, taking a pass from Parker Shepherd before firing from about 25 yards out.

The Panthers carried the three-goal advantage into halftime and continued to add to it after the break.

In the 51st minute, Goebel dribbled down the left side before playing the ball centrally to Graham Robinson, who finished to make it 4-0. The goal moved Robinson to 10 goals on the season.

Dailey added his second goal of the night in the 63rd minute, with Brayden Thomason providing the assist with a flicked header.

Daviess County closed out the scoring in the 69th minute when Robinson played a ball forward to Estime Gakiza, who finished the chance.

The six goals pushed the Panthers to 51 goals through 15 games, an average of 3.4 goals per game. Goebel’s goal and assist gave him nine goals and seven assists on the season, while Robinson now has 10 goals and seven assists.

Daviess County also kept Elizabethtown off the scoreboard for another clean sheet. The Panthers allowed eight shots, with two on goal, while Harrison DiProssimo-Dunaway and Cooper Payne split time in goal.

Daviess County improved to 11-3-2 with the win. The Panthers travel to Muhlenberg County Thursday for a 7 p.m. match.

Elizabethtown falls to 6-8 and will host Nelson County Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
