GREENVILLE, KY — Daviess County found its footing after a slow start Thursday night, scoring four unanswered goals to defeat Muhlenberg County 4-0 on the road.

The Panthers took the lead in the 26th minute when Ethan Dailey sent a long ball over the Muhlenberg County defense to Brayden Thomason, who finished for his fifth goal of the season.

Graham Robinson doubled the lead four minutes later after Estimee Gakiza’s shot was blocked by the Mustangs goalkeeper. Robinson collected the rebound and scored to make it 2-0.

Daviess County carried the two-goal advantage into halftime before adding two more goals in the final 20 minutes.

Thomason scored his second goal of the night in the 71st minute off an assist from Mack Burton. Two minutes later, Gakiza found Thomason on the wing, and Thomason finished with a trivela to complete the hat trick.

The three-goal performance moved Thomason to eight goals on the season. Gakiza finished with two assists, while Burton and Dailey each added one.

The Panthers also recorded another clean sheet, with Harrison DiProssimo-Dunaway and Cooper Payne combining in goal.

The win moves Daviess County to 12-3-2 on the season, while Muhlenberg County falls to 7-8.

Daviess County travels to Calloway County Saturday for a 6 p.m. match. Muhlenberg County hosts Grayson County Tuesday at 7 p.m.
