OWENSBORO, KY – Logan County built an early cushion and used timely extra-base hits and a home run in the third inning to hold off a resilient Owensboro team, earning a 6-4 win Thursday in varsity softball action.

The Cougars struck first in the opening inning, capitalizing on a mix of aggressive baserunning and Owensboro defensive miscues. After Addison Holloway reached base and advanced into scoring position, Logan County pushed across the first run on an error.
