Owensboro Catholic Shuts Out Logan County Behind Kurtz and Self

 

OWENSBORO, KY — Owensboro Catholic delivered a strong performance at home Thursday night, earning a 5-0 win over Logan County behind multi-goal contributions from JW Kurtz and Isaac Self.

Kurtz led the Aces with two goals and an assist, finishing with five points. Self added a goal and two assists for four points as Catholic’s offense produced five goals on the night.

Lucas Bailey and Landon Condor each found the net once, rounding out the scoring for the Aces. Catholic finished with five goals and three assists, with all four goal scorers contributing to the team’s offensive effort.

At the other end of the field, goalkeeper Jace Obermeier recorded four saves to secure the shutout. Logan County was unable to find a way past Obermeier as Catholic kept the visitors off the scoreboard.

The victory moved Owensboro Catholic to 10-8 on the season, while Logan County fell to 10-9-1.

The Aces will return home Monday, Oct. 5, to face Hopkins County Central at 7 p.m.
