Bluegrass Clash Sports Summit Returns With 15 Sporting Events in November

OWENSBORO, KY — Owensboro is preparing for three weekends of competition as the Fall Bluegrass Clash Sports Summit returns in November with 15 sporting events expected to bring approximately 3,500 athletes to the community.

Following its inaugural edition in July, the fall summit will take place November 6–8, November 13–15, and November 20–22. The schedule features basketball, football, softball, cheerleading, handball, ice hockey, endurance racing, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, along with a sports card show and community activities.

Visit Owensboro is organizing the event in partnership with local parks departments, colleges, venues, and other community organizations. Competitions will be held at locations throughout Owensboro, including the Owensboro Sportscenter, Owensboro Convention Center, Jack C. Fisher Park, Waymond Morris Park, Brescia University, Kentucky Wesleyan College, Edge Ice Center, and Horse Fork Creek Park.

A Growing Sports Destination

The Fall Bluegrass Clash brings multiple competitions together across several weekends, giving visiting athletes and their families opportunities to experience Owensboro beyond the playing surface.

“The Bluegrass Clash is about athletes of all ages competing in our city’s great offering of sporting events and coming together to enjoy our community off the field,” said Lucas Daunhauer of Visit Owensboro.

The summit also incorporates local attractions and downtown activities into the experience, encouraging visitors to explore the community while they are in town.

Three Weekends of Competition

The opening weekend, November 6–8, features the D2 CCA Women’s College Basketball Tip-Off at the Owensboro Sportscenter and the Jr. Grind Session Middle School Preseason Tournament at the Owensboro Convention Center. Other events include The Forge Challenge: Reignited, an indoor strength and fitness race; the Mullins Gold Star Tribute hockey event; and USFA fastpitch softball at Jack C. Fisher Park.

The Owensboro Card Show will also take place November 7 at the convention center, featuring sports cards and trading card games, including Pokémon. The show runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The November 13–15 weekend includes Battle on the Bluegrass Handball at the Owensboro Sportscenter, RYR Endurance Race Weekend at Horse Fork Creek Park, the King of the Hill Classic football tournament at Waymond Morris Park, and another USFA softball event.

The final weekend, November 20–22, features the Brescia Men’s Basketball Classic, the Kentucky Cup Football tournament, NSA softball, FUJI Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Kentucky Wesleyan College, and APEX Cheerleading at the Owensboro Convention Center.

Activities Beyond the Venues

The summit will also offer activities for visitors outside the competitions.

The Downtown Drinkabout Bar Crawl will run during all three weekends, featuring seasonal drink specials, entertainment, prizes, and participating downtown businesses.

Visitors can also take advantage of a special Maui’s Indoor Theme Park offer. A $14.99 voucher provides two hours of attractions, including go-karts, mini golf, bumper cars, duckpin bowling, arcade games, and an indoor coaster.

The combination of sporting events and community activities is designed to give visiting athletes and families more ways to spend time in Owensboro, while creating additional opportunities for local businesses.

With 15 events scheduled over three weekends, the Fall Bluegrass Clash adds to Owensboro’s growing lineup of sports competitions and brings athletes from a variety of sports together across the community.
