HARDINSBURG, KY — Owensboro High School picked up a three-set road win Monday night, defeating Breckinridge County 25-20, 25-13, 27-25.

The win moved the Devils to 8-7 on the season, while Breckinridge County fell to 5-10.

Owensboro controlled the first two sets, taking the opener by five points before pulling away for a 12-point win in the second. The third set provided the tightest finish of the night, with Owensboro closing it out 27-25 to complete the sweep.

Ayrish Barksdale continues to lead Owensboro’s attack this season with 147 kills through 14 matches, averaging 3.50 kills per set. Carsyn Cecil has added 71 kills, while Zoe Carter has 65.

Anna Travis has been the Devils’ primary setter, recording 178 assists, while June Larsen leads the team defensively with 213 digs.

Owensboro will look to build on the win Tuesday night when the Devils return home to face Daviess County.

Breckinridge County will also be back on the court Tuesday, hosting Ohio County.
