
Owensboro, KY – March 14, 2026 – The Daviess County Varsity Panthers captured a 5-1 victory over Warren East on Saturday at home. The Panthers got on the board in the third inning when L. Morris blasted a solo home run to center field, followed later in the seventh by a solo homer from S. Hume.
Hume earned the win on the mound, allowing two hits and no runs over four innings, striking out five and walking one. #10 took the loss for Warren East, surrendering three runs on six hits with two strikeouts over four innings. Cain provided effective relief for Daviess County.
The Panthers tallied 10 hits in the game, paced by Morris and S. Bennett with two each. RBI contributions came from Cain, Morris, Smith, Hume, and Bennett, while Clark stole two bases, part of a five-steal effort by the team. Daviess County played flawless defense, committing no errors, with Henry recording the most chances in the field with seven.
For Warren East, #1, #8, #3, #15, and #11 each collected one hit, while #28 drove in the team’s lone run.
Daviess County will host Butler County on Tuesday in their next matchup.
